🖋️ The Millionaire Real Estate Artist

All right, guys, so today I want to talk to you about a few things.

I want to talk about the fundamentals of becoming a millionaire real estate agent.

I’m just going to say it very straight: most of you don’t fucking read, and it’s a shame. You’re out there doing business, raising children, building lives—and you don’t pick up a book. You act like you do. You quote it, you throw it at other people, you say it out loud—but you don’t actually read it. You don’t know what it means.

So when you read The Millionaire Real Estate Agent, right—because the premise is that if you read this book and follow these rules, you can become a millionaire—I like that premise very much. That’s the reason I came to America in the first place. I wanted to come here and become a millionaire. That’s the whole thing.

So when I joined a brokerage and saw that book, I was like, yeah—I’m about this. I’m a book fiend. I read it, and I was completely transformed in that moment. Through the word—I read the word, and the word transformed me. I know that sounds silly to people who aren’t devout, but some things in your life really do change you.

And in this book, it’s basically a pathway—a map, a GPS—to building a million-dollar business in real estate.

So I started doing a little mental tinkering. I thought, okay—can I create a million-dollar business in another type of sales? Can I sell something else and still apply this? Will the book hold?

That’s really the experiment I’m interested in: what does this book actually say, and how can I apply it to my life?

Because I do want to be a millionaire.

And in the first few pages—again, most people don’t read, because they’re suckers—but for those who are interested, The Millionaire Real Estate Agent says something along these lines—I’m paraphrasing:

In an ideal world, a real estate agent would have enough time to develop a vision. Not just of the business, but of themselves.

In an ideal world, the agent wouldn’t be focused on sales—they’d be focused on building a life and a business with clarity, intention, and design.

That hit me.

But it also says that most realtors don’t live in that ideal world. They have bills to pay. So they skip straight to the practical part.

That’s not me.

In case you don’t know, I do not live in reality. I never did.

So when I read about this “ideal world,” I took it seriously. Because for me, my conditions are always ideal. There’s no perfect moment—I just decide that this is it.

So while other realtors are focused on making the next sale, I pulled my attention away from numbers and focused on design.

If I had a magic wand—what would my real estate business look like?

What would I look like as an agent? What would I wear, sound like, speak like, move like?

What would my business cards look like? My showings? My outfits? My Social Media Posts?

MY NEWSLETTER! What would this newsletter look like? Sound like? What voice would I channel?

And who reads it?

Well, in an ideal world Gary Keller would read it - that’s what I wrote down on my notes.

Who am I actually serving? What do they look like?

How do I bring my past into this—my love for acting, for art, for performance?

And what started growing—this is going to sound stupid—but it was a deep sense of purpose.

A real sense of direction. A sense of hope.

I am naturally a hopeful person, but sometimes things happen in your life that unlock a new level.

And real estate, for me, came completely out of the blue. That’s a story for another day—but I got my license out of spite.

And then it just… sat on me. It landed on my life and stayed there.

You are now Reading L’Etranger

At the time, it felt random. It felt like the death of my dream. Like—shit, now I have to grow up. I have to pay bills, think about money, laws, other people’s needs. I didn’t want any of that. I wanted to be on stage. I wanted to be in front of a camera doing dumb shit.

So it felt like a nail in the coffin.

Like giving up.

And I did. Mentally, spiritually—I gave up.

That’s the devil’s favorite word: never.

A few years ago, I said, “I will never move to Rochester.”

So you have to be careful with that word.

Because I said the same thing about real estate. I said I would never do it.

To me, it was one of those jobs people fell into after giving up on their real dreams. I saw artists in New York quit and become agents, and I judged it.

It felt like becoming a real estate agent meant I was no longer an artist. No longer… pure. I don’t know how else to say it.

I was defeated. I was searching for something else—almost like a new religion. I was disappointed in God at that point.

But then I read the book.

And it felt like it was sent to me.

I was reading those pages, and I thought—oh my God. I see it.

This is not the obstacle.

This is the way.

This is the vehicle. The place where I can actually express my craft, my art, my characters.

It’s not the end.

It’s the beginning.

And yeah—maybe it sounds dramatic—but reading that book changed my life deeply.

There are other books that have done that too. The Bible, obviously. The Pale King. Thus Spoke Zarathustra. The Birth of Tragedy. Oedipus Rex. Neville Goddard.

Some things hit you like a punch in the face. It hurts in the moment—but afterward, it’s light everywhere.

And this—that’s my journey into real estate.

This is real estate through the eyes of an outsider. Someone who doesn’t belong.

And I think that’s my biggest advantage.

Because this—

This is also real estate.

This is my real estate.

And it’s a hell of a lot more interesting than Zillow.
